Dear Parents,                                                                               September 18, 2009

Another wonderful week has passed and seems to have flown by! The yard sale has made the week a little more busy than usual, and the kids have had fun picking out their favorite things in the hallway when we go back and forth! Be sure to come and support the school- there are so many neat things up for sale. Also, don’t forget the teachers’ bake sale- all the money made from the bake sale goes directly to teachers so that we can buy things for our classroom. Just a reminder that if you haven’t already, please make something to bring to the bake sale- it can be dropped off tomorrow morning.

This Tuesday is school picture day- I had told a couple of you it was Monday, but I had looked at the wrong day on my calendar (sorry!!). So, if your child is a 3-day preschooler, if possible he/she is welcome to attend an extra day this week. Retakes will be coming up if that will not work.

This week we were lucky to get to walk with Fr. Szydlik over to the Villa Marie to have a new statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary blessed. The preschoolers were excited to walk over to the ‘big house!’ We talked about who Mary is and that she was holding the baby Jesus in her arms.

Thank you to everyone who brought snacks in this week- we have replenished our supply and have some yummy new things to try!

I have noticed a few of the take home folders have not made it back in your child’s backpack. This is not a big deal, but if you happen to see it lying around the house, just throw it back in there please. I just like to have it so things don’t get crushed and wrinkled on the way home. J

This week for handwriting, we are working on starting our letters ‘from the top.’ Please practice drawing lines from the top in a downward motion- this is a skill we need to acquire before moving on with our handwriting program. We have been practicing our names every day as well, so any practice at home would be appreciated- please watch for starting letters from the top!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs. Scheetz
