At SPPS, we strive to make learning fun and engaging with our students. We have top of the line curriculum that was hand chosen with an emphasis on hands on learning. Our goal is to balance academic success with the fun and joy of being a child. We prepare our students for Jr. High, ensure they meet academic milestones and teach them the tools to be successful both now and long term.

• We utilize Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing so that our students are confident in standardized testing. MAP is a norm-referenced measure of student growth over time. MAP assessments, joined with other data points, provide detailed, actionable data about where each child is on his or her unique learning path. MAP Growth is the most trusted and innovative assessment for measuring achievement and growth in K–12 math, reading, language usage, and science.

• We utilize Exact Path, Edmentum Exact Path utilizes adaptive diagnostic assessments paired with individualized learning paths to promote academic growth. This program is focused on understanding where your student is academically and then taking that data a step further to provide just-in-time instruction aligned to your goals.

At SPPS we utilize many different curriculums to customize learning for each age level and subject. Some of our highlights include:

• Superkids: The Superkids Reading Program captivates students from the start with tales of the Superkids. These relatable characters and their ongoing adventures provide an engaging and cohesive framework for literacy success. Superkids is a comprehensive English language arts curriculum crafted for grades K–2 using evidence-based literacy practices. This proven-effective program follows a unique systematic and explicit instructional path through engaging, increasingly complex text.

• Amplify Science: Amplify Science is a K–8 science curriculum that blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists and engineers.

• Sadlier Math: Sadlier Math is a comprehensive core math program that provides a pedagogy that reflects the keystones of mathematical learning that empowers us to Foster students’ conceptual understanding and skill development with a cohesive grouping of lessons, explicit instruction, and guided and independent practice.

Other curriculums we utilize throughout our six grades, kindergarten and preschool include: Magic of Math, Read Side-by-side, Storyworks and Scope Magazine.
