FINE ARTS

At Sts. Peter and Paul School, we believe that creativity is a God-given gift. Our fine arts programs are designed to help students step out of their comfort zones, discover new passions, and share their natural talents with our community.

Music We believe every child has a beautiful voice to share! Students attend music class twice a week in the afternoons under the joyful guidance of Mrs. Huston She has an incredible gift for helping students step out of their shells, build their confidence, and utilize their God-given talents. Our school family gets to hear our students shine during our beloved annual Christmas Program and our Spring Fine Arts Night. Beyond the classroom, our students also have the special opportunity to join the children's choir, bringing their incredibly beautiful voices to our school Masses to lead us in worship

Band For our older students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grades, we are proud to offer an instrumental music program in partnership with Nauvoo-Colusa School District #325. To make participation as seamless as possible, regular band lessons are conducted right here at SPPS during the school day. For students looking to take their skills to the next level, Cadet Band meets at N-C Elementary two days a week, we provide students transportation to and from.

Art If you walk our hallways, you will quickly see that our students' artwork is the absolute best décor around! Rather than a separate pull-out class, art is seamlessly integrated into our curriculum and taught by our dedicated classroom teachers. Students explore mixed media, light and shadow, and perspective in a way that is hands-on and incredibly fun. Their creative masterpieces are proudly displayed on our walls year-round and take center stage at our annual Spring Fine Arts Night.

Theatre We love giving our students the opportunity to step into the spotlight and amplify their talents through the love of Jesus Christ! Throughout the year, individual classrooms host skits and plays, inviting parents and families to come and enjoy the fun. The absolute highlight of our theatrical year is the Annual Christmas Program—a beautiful, massive production that combines both a play and a concert. Our teachers do a wonderful job encouraging children to be brave, take on challenging roles, and perform with confidence.

"Artistic talent is a gift from God and whoever discovers it in himself has a certain obligation: to know that he cannot waste this talent, but must develop it."
