Intervention

With a heart for every student’s success, Mrs. Rhonda Boyles is a beloved pillar of the Sts. Peter and Paul family. Originally from Keokuk, Iowa, she moved to Nauvoo after her husband, Joe, retired from a 24-year career in the Navy. Mrs. Boyles holds an Associate’s degree from SCC and is a licensed Paraeducator, bringing a wealth of experience to our building since first joining SPPS in 2010.

As our Intervention Specialist, Mrs. Boyles is inspired to give every single student the opportunity to thrive, providing the tailored, one-on-one support they need to reach their full academic potential.

A proud mother of three daughters—including a current SPPS student—and a grandmother of two, family is her greatest joy. When she isn’t acting as our students' biggest cheerleader, you can find her caring for her flowers, baking, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, or enjoying a bit of chocolate!

What is Intervention at SPPS? At Sts. Peter and Paul School, we believe every child is a unique gift with their own way of learning. To ensure no student is left behind, we use a multi-tiered system of support driven by classroom identification, NWEA MAP growth data, and screening. This allows us to identify exactly where a child might need a extra boost or a different approach to master a concept.

A Personalized Path to Success Our Intervention Specialist, Mrs. Boyles, works hand-in-hand with parents and teachers to create a nurturing environment where every child can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. Rather than a "one-size-fits-all" curriculum, she designs specialized instructional strategies that celebrate diverse learning styles.

Whether it is through one-on-one sessions or small group lessons, our intervention program focuses on:

  • Targeted Skill Building: Focusing on specific areas of need identified through our universal screening process.

  • Diverse Learning Accommodations: Ensuring every student has full, confident access to our rigorous curriculum.

  • Confidence & Growth: Meeting students where they are to build the "academic confidence" that is a pillar of our school mission.

At SPPS, intervention isn't just about extra help—it’s about providing the "fertile soil" each child needs to reach their absolute full potential as a Leader for Christ.
