Intervention

Mrs. Boyles grew up in Keokuk, IA, she moved to Nauvoo after her husband Joe retired from the Navy after 24 years of service. She has three daughters, one of which is currently a student at SPPS! Mrs. Boyles has her Para Educator License and her Associates degree from SCC. Mrs. Boyles began working at SPPS as an aide in 2010, she took a few years off when her youngest was born and returned in 2017. Mrs. Boyles is inspired to give every single student the chance to succeed, this makes her the perfect person to teach our intervention program. She loves spending time with her family, baking, caring for her flowers, the Iowa Hawkeyes and of course chocolate! She has two  grandsons that she loves to spend time with. She is charismatic and loving, her positivity radiates to all those around her. The children love Mrs. Boyles, she is each students biggest cheerleader!

What is intervention?

Intervention at SPPS is a multi-tiered system of support for children who show need based on universal screening and NWEA Map testing. Our interventionalist works with students, parents, and colleagues to create a learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth for children with disabilities. She designs and implements instructional strategies and materials that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have access to the curriculum. This includes in-screening to fully understand each child’s unique learning abilities as well as one-on-one and small group lessons focused on specialized skills.

  • Focused on children who show need through Universal Screening and children with documented learning disabilities;

  • Skills based;

  • Individualized approaches to education;

  • Provides support with standardized testing;

  • Extra love, care and attention to the students who need it most;

  • Creating the opportunity for all children to thrive at SPPS!
