THIRD GRADE

Mrs. Kayla Haas
Mrs. Haas is a lifelong resident of Nauvoo and Member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Mrs. Haas attended SPPS as a kid and both of her children attended SPPS as well. Mrs. Haas graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Elementary Education with Middle school endorsements in reading and social studies. She took a job at SPPS right after graduation, teaching Kindergarten and first grade for three years. She then took some time off to raise her two beautiful daughters. Once both of her children were attending SPPS themselves, she jumped back into teaching first grade for five years. She now teaches third grade and has experience also teaching fourth. Mrs. Haas is an experienced and valuable educator to have on our staff here at SPPS. Her knowledge, techniques and positive attitude allow her to succeed in any classroom. Her goal in third grade is to start to teach students independence and how to be self-regulating. She does this all while letting the kids be kids, laughing and having fun should be a part of every school day.
"I love the relationships I have the opportunity to build with each student. Getting to know them and their personality and learning styles. Seeing them mature and grow throughout the year is so rewarding and exciting. I also love having fun with the kids. I want my excitement for learning to run off on them. Having fun, laughing, and learning together are the best parts of my job!"--Mrs. Kayla Haas
