Winners of the soup competition

Sts. Peter and Paul recently hosted a heartwarming and successful soup competition fundraiser that brought our school community together in a delicious way. With ten mouthwatering entries and an enthusiastic turnout of patrons, the event not only satisfied taste buds but also raised funds for our school's God’s Portion Day!

The highlight of the event was the Soup Showdown, where ten talented participants showcased their culinary skills by preparing a variety of soups. From Cheeseburger Soup to hearty Chilis, each entry brought its unique flavors to the table. Students, teachers, and parents eagerly lined up to taste and vote for their favorite soups. Children's games were available on the stage giving the tots lots of activities to keep them entertained. Each game won tickets where the kids could turn them in for a prize at the prize table.

The creativity displayed by our participants was truly impressive. Some entrants added a unique twist to traditional recipes, while others decorated their tables with impeccable detail! The diversity of flavors catered to all tastes, making the competition an exciting culinary adventure for everyone involved.

Patrons were given the opportunity to cast their votes both for “Best Taste” and “Best Showmanship.” The friendly competition added an extra layer of excitement, and everyone waited eagerly for the results. The Best Taste Category had 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes, while best showmanship had one winner.

Our winners were:

First Place, Best Taste- Preston Paben with his Jalapeño Popper Soup

Second Place, Best Taste- Cory and Stefanie Gall with their Deer Chili

Third Place, Best Taste- Deacon Tony with his Chili

Best Showmanship: The Knipes (Emma, Ethan, Susan and Tony) with their Cheeseburger in Paradise themed Table

The success of our soup competition fundraiser wouldn't have been possible without the overwhelming support from our community. Parents, grandparents, and friends turned out in large numbers to taste the delicious soups and contribute to the cause. The event became a hub of positive energy, with laughter and joy filling the air.  Thank you to everyone who participated, contributed, and made this event a success!
