Parents... please read your email about an important announcement from the Office of Catholic Schools regarding a viral Tik Tok post threatening nationwide school violence tomorrow. We have been advised to have increased security measures and implement a soft lockdown which means that we won't be going outside for recess and we won't be attending Mass. Once the students arrive at school, we will stay in the building until dismissal.
We will have our Christmas parties. I will be monitoring all entries, and parents will be asked to sign in/out.
I have been in contact with Police Chief Mike Boley so he is aware as well.
Prayers for safety and peace!
Good luck to the Nauvoo 8th grade Lady Vikings (and SPPS alum Anna Haas) as they play for the state championship tonight!
Quite the temperature change from yesterday so don’t forget coats, hats and gloves today as we will be caroling outside.
We have been practicing our drills for safety. Today we had our Intruder drill with Police Chief Mike Boley. The students did an amazing job!
Reminder: Permission slips need to be returned by Wednesday.
Also, there have been some menu changes so please check under "Dining" to see those.
We have decided to perform the Christmas program this morning at 10:00. It will be live-streamed for everyone to see. This is not an ideal situation but it is the best we can do at this time. We hope you enjoy the performance!

Resending. Hopefully the push notifications will work.
I know everyone is disappointed with the decision to cancel the Christmas program today. Here’s the reasoning… we have a positive case and because of the various activities last Thursday and Friday (program practice, all school movie, house challenge), students may have been exposed, so we thought it best not to expose anyone outside the school.
We are planning to have school this week because the alternative is to do remote learning and we are trying to avoid that. We know things change quickly, so please monitor your child for symptoms and keep them home if any new symptoms develop.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will keep you updated when a decision is made about live-streaming the program.

Of all days for the notifications not to go through. I’m so sorry. The Christmas program has been canceled for this afternoon due to the risk of exposure. Lots of disappointment for sure. We will keep you updated if we reschedule or livestream.
This message was sent over 30 minutes ago but I’m resending again. The Christmas program has been canceled for this afternoon due to the risk of exposure. We will keep you updated if it will be rescheduled or live-streamed at a later date. Again, I’m very sorry for the disappointment.
Due to the risk of exposure, we’ve made the decision to cancel our Christmas program this afternoon. I’m very sorry for the late notice.
SPPS Field Trip: We are going to Hickory Grove in Carthage next Thursday morning to sing Christmas carols for the residents. Because of Covid restrictions, we will be outside. Students have a permission form that needs to be returned by next Wednesday; please complete BOTH sides. We will leave school right after Circle Prayer to begin singing at 9:00 am. Please join us if you are available!
I'm sorry for the late notice, but we are having our dress rehearsal this morning at 10:00 am and parents are welcome to attend if you can make it.
Christmas Program Sunday @2:00 pm (also livestreamed)

This Thursday, SPPS will have a new principal, Mr. Gage Parrish. Gage will be the "Principal for the Day" and has decided to implement some fun things. Students will have a Pajama Day and enjoy a movie. He is taking care of the snack during the movie, and students may bring a blanket, pillow or stuffed animal to watch the movie. A super-fun day!!
Students have been working hard preparing for our Christmas program this Sunday, Dec 12 @2:00 pm.
Cast members have their costume details and should be here by 1:30 pm.
All other students should wear dress clothes/Sunday best and be here by 1:45 pm.
See you on Sunday - either in person or live stream!
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to help on a parent committee! Just a quick clarification... the GPD Auction is the committee to do the soliciting and collecting of items and the set up/clean up for the auction. We will have a sign up for additional help on the day of the auction at a later date.
Reminder: Send a stocking for St. Nicholas by Friday.
Also, check your email for a link to sign up for parent involvement and Christmas parties. Thank you!
Casual Day tomorrow. Don’t forget to have your child bring a stocking, shoe, or sock by Friday for St. Nicholas’s visit. Thank you!
